The energy transition also begins in the villages

In recent years, sustainable energy and the circular economy have become essential topics for our future. But what role do young people in rural areas play in this shift? The answer is brought by ENERYOUTH, one European project co-financed by Erasmus+ which seeks to empower youth in rural areas so that they are protagonists of the energy transition.

What is ENERYOUTH?

 ENERYOUTH is a Project designed for Young people aged 18 to 30 who live in rural areas and want to explore new Training, entrepreneurship and leadership opportunities in the renewable energy and circular economy sectors.

Free online course

The central pillar of the project is a completely free online course, with an approximate duration of 10 hours, which will be available from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026.

The Registration for the course is now open, From 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026.

This course is 100% flexibleeach participant will be able to do so at their own pace and from anywhere.

Other tools the project will offer

  • Micro-documentary An audiovisual story centred on the real experiences of young people in rural areas who are already leading energy transformation initiatives in their communities.
  • Interactive White Paper This resource will collect and document real, good practices, with the aim of serving as a replicable guide for young people, local entities, and social agents.

The project ENERYOUTH is co-financed by the programme Erasmus+ from the European Union, in the line of cooperation projects in the field of youth (KA210-YOU).

The materials for the ENERYOUTH project – including the website, online course, training pills, and White Paper – will be available at Spanish, English and German. This ensures that young people from different countries and rural backgrounds in Europe can access resources without language barriers, thus fostering inclusion, international cooperation, and the exchange of experiences.
